So The First Impressions - Whats The New iPhone 3G Like?
First, after you charge this baby up… and load up the new 8GB or 16GB iPhone 3G with its applications, your ready to try out its new features. This new iphone feels a lot more compact than its predecessor, even though it’s the same size as the old model.

The new Apple iPhone 3G comes in two different models, a 8GB version model for the lower cost of $199, and a 16GB model for $299. The 16GB iPhone model comes in 2 colors, white or black. At most of the AT&T stores, it was Christmas all over again judging by the massive lineups. There are reports the iPhone 8GB and 16GB models all sold out within the first 30 minutes of availability.

The first thing you notice is the back of the new iphones case, the new phone is beveled, giving it a different and better feel in your hand, it feels a lot more comfortable. Other than that, the exterior is basically the same, the beast that lies within is what counts.

Utilizes The New 3G Network
The new AT&T ultra high speed 3G wireless network is said to be twice faster than the previous EDGE network, which was used by the first model. Thats the claim from Apple as well as AT&T. And it seems pretty accurate, based on a few tests using the new phone.

To give you an example, on the new 16GB iPhone 3G, it took about 20 seconds to load a full page view of a website on the internet, the same page took around 51 seconds on the old iPhone. Other pages and blogs took around 15 to 25 seconds to load, impressive indeed.

Apple is actually still a small player when it comes to the smart-phone industry. After the initial hype, after say.. the first few million or so of these units are gone, and the upgrades are all done, the real tell-tale sign will be what will happen after the first few months or so. Yes, although the new iPhone 3G is cheaper, the AT&T data plan is a heck of a lot more expensive. The consumers will most likely begin to connect the dots. This is an expensive toy, and it is for those who feel they must keep up with the internet Jone’s.
